Project Description
In the past, the City of Orrville, OH, has successfully used FORTA-FERRO® at 4.0 lbs. / cu. yd., for their new city street reconstruction projects. They have successfully eliminated the use of traditional steel reinforcement and the need for placing dowel baskets at the transverse joints. This has resulted in reduced curling at the joints, mid-panel cracking and labor cost savings. By using a dosage of 5.0 lbs. / cu. yd. of FORTA-FERRO® for this project, the transverse joints were extended from 15’ to 30’ with no dowel baskets.
Project Update
Three years after completion, the fiber reinforced roadway is exceeding expectations.
