Project Description
The Station at Willow Grove is a retail, residential, medical, and parking garage combination structure located in Willow Grove, PA. The architect and engineer for this project chose to replace
specified steel with FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers for three different applications: slab-on-ground, slab-on-metal-deck, and topping slab. By using fibers, the contractor could place more concrete in a shorter amount of time which saved the project days on the schedule. They also chose FORTA-FERRO fibers because they were interested in reducing cracking in the slab-on-metal-decks and topping slab on the parking garage. Both advantages, in turn, saved the owner money on the total project.
