Project Description
Contractors replaced specified steel in the slab-on-metal-deck with FORTA-FERRO in this tilt-up construction for the Sheltair Executive FBO facility in Orlando, FL. This portion of the project, totaling 15,000 sq ft, used FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers at a dosage of 4.0 lb/cu yd. By replacing the wire mesh with fiber, the owners saved time and money not having to crane the mesh up to the decks or having to place, chair, and tie the wire mesh. Using FORTA-FERRO also resulted in a safer work environment since workers did not have wire mesh to trip over.
