Project Description
The New York Blower Company, an industrial fan producer located in New Castle, PA, chose FORTA-FERRO fibers for their new warehouse floor. This project was 400 cu yd and used a total of 2400 lb of FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber. This fiber reinforced concrete slab in the new manufacturing facility had been specified for steel fibers, but the contractor and the ready mixer both wanted to use fibers. By using FORTA-FERRO fibers the ready mixer was able to speed up delivery to the job site and the contractor had less wear and tear on his men and machines. The fibers proved to be easy to use with uniform mixing and no balling or clumping, even with a higher than normal 6.0 lb/cu yd dosage.
