Project Description
The City of Honolulu used FORTA-FERRO to reinforce a section of Kaononi Street in front of the Pearlridge Shopping Center in Aiea, HI. Fibers were originally specified for this pavement project and used at a dosage of 7.5 lb/cu yd. By using fibers to reinforce the road instead of steel rebar or mesh, time and money were saved while increasing the durability of the roadway. The city and county chose FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers to reduce excessive cracking.
