Gas Stations

Buenos Aires, Argentina - 2017

Description

Two gasoline stations, North & South Side, needed to be rebuilt. Part of the old pavement was a Jointed Reinforced Concrete Pavement (JRCP) and part of it was a hot mix asphalt (HMA) system. The JRCP was demolished and rebuilt using FORTA-FERRO® reinforced concrete to extend joint spacing and reduce curling. An Ultra-Thin Whitetopping (UTW) reinforced with fiber was best suited for rehabilitation of this pavement.

Update

North Side was surveyed and was in excellent condition. Only a few cracks have appeared in the corner of some slabs (less than 0.5 mm wide) and then does not affect pavement ride quality. South Side is also in excellent condition. The performance evaluation of these two gas stations shows that the vast majority of the surface is in great shape after 1 year of use.
