Project Description
The project specifiers chose to use FORTA-FERRO®, at a dosage of 5.0 lbs. / cu. yd., as an alternative to the wire mesh as the secondary reinforcement. The concrete was placed with no issues regarding cracking after the pour. Everyone on the job agreed that FORTA-FERRO® would be used again for future fire station projects to replace traditional costly wire mesh reinforcement. The FORTA-FERRO® not only met the specifier and owner’s needs, but also offered a level of durability to the concrete, which wire mesh could not offer.
