Project Description
The fiber solution resulted in maintaining the project schedule, allowing the 5-acre remove-and-replace project to be completed in a 2-week time period. In total, over 4,400 cubic yards of fiber reinforced concrete were placed using FORTA-FERRO® at a dosage of 3.0 lbs. / cu. yd. Without the steel reinforcement problem, the base was proof-rolled and the concrete was laser-screeded, panned, and broom-finished without any issues. The pavement slabs were 7 ½ in. thick, and were sawcut into 15 ft. square panels following standard joint-spacing recommendations of the American Concrete Institute for low dosage fiber reinforced concrete.
