Project Description
The Napa Auto Parts Distribution Center opted to used FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers in a slab-on-ground application at their Waipahu, HI location. This project totaling 3,000 lb used a fiber dosage of 7.5 lb cu/yd. Since FORTA FERRO fibers cost less than steel, the owners were able to cut costs by replacing the originally specified steel with fibers. Also, by not having to tie and place rebar, time was saved and the project was completed faster. In addition, the durability of the pavement was increased by using FORTA-FERRO fibers.
