Delta Test Facility – Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, GA - 2018

Project Description

Precision Concrete Construction specified fibers for the pavement at the jet engine repair facility for Delta Airlines at their Corporate facilities at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, GA. FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber was chosen to be used at a dosage of 3.0 lb/cu yd for this 12” thick paving containing 5,280 cu yd of concrete. Using FORTA-FERRO instead of conventional steel reinforcement allowed for the elimination of a pump truck and shortened the construction time by eliminating the time it would have taken to place and chair the steel reinforcement. The absence of steel also allowed for an increase in the pour size and made for a safer work site. FORTA-FERRO, with its twisted bundle technology and its refined mix design features, allowed for a superior mixing fiber and broom finish.
