Project Description
FORTA-FERRO® was used at a 7.5 lbs. / cu. yd. in lieu of the traditional rebar grid. The fibers provide a 3-dimensional reinforcement system throughout the concrete slab. FORTA-FERRO®’s acid resistance was also a great benefit in this application. Although violating recommendations, the loaded delivery trucks and setting crane used for further construction, drove on the newly placed slab. The crane operator commented, “I‘m surprised this slab hasn’t already cracked with all this load on it.”
Update
A visit to the project in August 2013 confirmed that the mix and fiber combination are serving the application and its functions very well.
