FORTA-FERRO®Projects

Project List:

Airport Repair Slab

Hartsfield International Airport, Atlanta, GA - June 2002

Project Description:

FORTA-FERRO® structural synthetic fiber was recently selected as a reinforcement material to be included in pavement and repair trials at the Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. Original project specifications called for as much as 85 pounds of steel fibers per cubic yard, however FORTA-FERRO® was included in pre-project trials as an easy-to-handle and cost-effective alternative. The eventual project will include major concrete spall repair areas on taxiways M-14 and N-5 as well as various intersection upgrades. FORTA-FERRO® was utilized at a dosage rate of 10 lbs./cubic yard in this high-cement content, rapid setting mix design.
