Shotcrete Tunnel Lining
Substation Cable Route Tunnel, Hong Kong - December 1997Project Description:
Over 1,500 cubic meters of FORTA®-reinforced concrete were placed on this December 1997 tunnel lining project in Hong Kong. The project specified FORTA® ECONO-NET® fiber to control shrinkage cracking for the lining of a substation cable route tunnel for the Hong Kong Electric Company. The FORTA® ECONO-NET® fiber, 19mm length (3/4") was added at a dosage rate of 2.7 kg. per cubic meter as an alternate to steel fiber reinforcement. The FORTA® reinforcement was easily added, mixed, and air-placed in this dry-mix gunnite applied project.
