About FORTA Corporation

The most respected name in the synthetic fiber industry.

Fiber Reinforced Concrete Training

Accepted by the American Institute of Architects for Continuing Education System Credits

FORTA Corporation is a registered provider of Continuing Education System credits through the American Institute of Architects. AIA members can obtain C.E.S. credits for the FORTA program Fiber Reinforced Concrete. Our national sales team presents the informational seminar, which includes basic information and engineering discussions on both standard-grade and second-generation macrosynthetic fibers.

PROGRAM: Introduction to Synthetic Fibers – Part 1
LENGTH: 60 minutes
CREDIT: One Learning Unit Credit
COST: There is no charge for the seminar, except for luncheon costs if required.

Learning Objectives
1. Understand the four most important fiber characteristics and how they effect performance in concrete.
2. Use a 4-C's fiber formula to objectively compare fiber types and brands.
3. Understand the two basic performance levels of synthetic fibers: temperature/crack control reinforcement and structural property enhancing reinforcement.
4. Determine appropriate real world applications for both levels of synthetic fiber reinforcement.

PROGRAM: Fiber Reinforced Concrete Seminar Series- Part 2
LENGTH: 60 minutes
CREDIT: One Learning Unit Credit
COST: There is no charge for the seminar, except for luncheon costs if required.

Learning Objectives
1. Mathematical analysis comparing synthetic fibers to replace temperature and shrinkage steel reinforcement.
2. Prove macrosynthetic fiber is a superior method of reinforcement.
3. Review the 4 Cs formula for fiber selection.
4. Discuss methods to determine sufficient quantities and types of fiber for a variety of concrete projects.

PROGRAM: Fiber Floor Philosophy Program - Part 3
LENGTH: 60 minutes
CREDIT: One Learning Unit Credit
COST: There is no charge for the seminar, except for luncheon costs if required.

1. Understand the four most important and specifiable synthetic fiber characteristics, and how they affect performance in concrete.
2. Understand the theory and differences between a steel-reinforced and a fiber- reinforced floor philosophy.
3. Learn of the shrinkage and curling results and ramifications from the Chicago trial-study project.
4. Learn of ACI document background references to macrosynthetic fibers and joint-spacing, along with a 10-year historic review of FORTA® joint-stretching projects.
5. Understand the economics and nuances involved with high-volume synthetic fibers, and dispel pre-conceived notions associated with their use.is no charge for the seminar, except for luncheon costs if required.
